The project has a capacity of 80 MW, built on 28 hectares with 26 wind turbine towers, with a capacity of 3-3.3-4.2 MW/turbine.
With the goal of building and operating the plant, connecting to the national power grid on the Gia Rai-Bac Lieu 220 kV transmission line, using wind energy to produce electrical energy combined with aquaculture to improve efficiency. As a result of land use, Hoa Binh Wind Power Plant not only creates stable jobs for people, increases local budget revenue with a value of over 80 billion VND/year, but also contributes to economic restructuring. economy for the whole Mekong Delta region in general and Bac Lieu province in particular.
When put into operation and officially generating electricity in October 2021, the plant will provide an average power output of over 280 million kWh/year, making an important contribution to fulfilling the target of Power Master Plan VII (adjusted), at the same time, combined with other wind power plants on the Bac Lieu-Ca Mau coastal belt road will create a strong push for the development of the province’s tourism industry.
Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People’s Committee Duong Thanh Trung said that Hoa Binh 5 Wind Power Plant is the largest onshore wind power project in the province as well as in the country in the field of using clean energy sources to produce electricity. The province will create all conditions for investors to actively construct wind power projects.
According to Mr. Duong Thanh Trung, besides 1 completed wind power project and 9 wind power projects under construction with a total capacity of over 660 MW, total investment capital of over 1 billion USD, Bac Lieu will invest in more houses. LNG gas thermal power plant with a scale of 3,200 MW, with a total investment of 4 billion USD, is expected to start construction in the second quarter of 2021.
The development of these projects is very suitable with the available conditions and development orientation of Bac Lieu, which has contributed to promoting the potential and advantages of the province, especially in line with the direction of the Prime Minister as ” Bac Lieu develops in a green direction”, focusing on environmental protection and sustainable development.
